What could be more exciting than spending a week down south at Paines Ford and go climbing on beautiful limestone-slopers and just enjoy the wonderful atmosphere in the hangdog camp? Exactly, I can't think of anything else either.
Two cars are booked on the ferry on Thursday evening; the club has tents and the essential climbing gear. So we are ready to pack up and go.
This trip is aimed for keen climbers, so lead climbing and lead belaying is a must. It will also be less structured than most other trips. It is absolutely possible to make your own way there and back or just stay there for a few days.
As far as the costs go I’d estimate them to be no more than $450 for the full packet (ferry, car ride, campground and group dinners/breakfasts). Depending on how we are doing with filling the cars, it might also be a cheaper (than advertised).
